Portrait of a daughter
commissioned by her father

“This is the face of DISABILITY.

My daughter, Luciana, was born with a disability. Told she wouldn’t walk. Would never tie her shoes. Likely wouldn’t make it out of the NICU.

20 years later, she is surviving. And thriving.

Disability encompasses a vast range of conditions. People with disabilities are individuals with their own unique set of circumstances, struggles and ambitions.

I applaud and support my daughter as she thrives to recognize, honor and advocate for all those who suffer with disability.

Keep at it, Lulu.

And great work, @victoriaushkanova.”
